CARBON DATING ARTIFACTS FOR RESEARCH

When it comes down to historical research and treasure hunting, getting answers is very important. There’s no reason to spend time and effort on a site that is not of the right time period. Can you imagine wasting time on a treasure site that you feel is very old, but it turns out its only 50 years old?

For instance, if you are hoping that you stumbled across an old mine with timbers inside and you think it could possibly be an old Spanish mine. You can carbon test the mine props, artifacts, and tools found inside. If you find old pieces of leather, that can be tested as well. The cost of a carbon test is not as expensive as you may think. You can test samples for $125 – $450 dollars per sample.

This could save you a lot of wasted time, or it can prove that you are onto something good. If your sample comes back 300 years old, you may have stumbled across something really good.

DO YOUR RESEARCH ON YOUR TREASURE SITES

(PART 2 – CARBON DATING ARTIFACTS FOR RESEARCH)

If you have done your research before you head into the wilderness, you should know a few things about the treasure you are looking for. If you are looking for civil war treasures, then that’s easy.  Do your research and get the approximate dates of the civil war. Your dates should be around 1861 – 1865. Now, remember, when it comes to locating treasures, sometimes that date can be off. Maybe some were preparing for the civil war a couple of years prior to the war and perhaps some were still involved with the civil war a few years after.

Know your history and research the story you are hunting for. Some say, when it comes to real estate, they say “location, location, location,” I say when it comes to treasure hunting, research, research, research. I spend a lot of time on the backstory and history of a treasure I’m hunting for. I suggest you do the same.

WHAT MATERIALS CAN BE CARBON TESTED?

(PART 3 – CARBON DATING ARTIFACTS FOR RESEARCH)

Here’s the good thing. Many different sample types can be tested. This gives you, as a treasure hunter, many different things to hunt for, in order to get a date.

Here are a few things to look for to get your samples:

  • Charcoal
  • Wood
  • Twigs
  • Bones
  • Leather
  • Pottery
  • Corals
  • Blood Residues
  • Fabrics
  • Paper or Parchment

There are some samples you can look for. I think this gives you a very good possibility to recover something that you can date. Don’t go crazy. Take your time, and take a sample of something that you feel will really give you answers to your site.

Carbon dating can give you more information than just a date. For example, if you are testing wood, it can give you the date, what type of species of tree, and where the region of the tree is found. That’s why I feel like carbon dating is a powerful tool for treasure hunters

EXAMPLES OF APPLICATIONS TO USE FOR CARBON DATING & TREASURE HUNTING

(PART 4 – CARBON DATING ARTIFACTS FOR RESEARCH)

TIME PERIOD FOR ARTIFACTS

I think it’s safe to say that most people can agree that getting a date on an artifact is a good idea. This way you know when the artifact was made. Every treasure hunter, at one point in his or her life, has asked the question, how old is this artifact? Carbon dating will give you the dates you’re looking for.

how old is this artifact

HOW OLD IS THE MINE

If you find a mine and you’re trying to find out who dug it out, and when, carbon dating is your go-to. If the mine has timber, mine props,  can carbon test that. You can also carbon test tools, and objects found in the mine, as well. This is very important because sometimes, depending on what treasure you’re looking for, carbon tests can be quite different. The Spanish had different means for mining, and were big on mining and collecting their gold and silver for long periods of time. If the carbon test comes back in a time period when you know the Spanish were in the area, then maybe, you found a Spanish mine and your technique should be different to locate all of the clues.

mining, mine, hidden

OLD STRUCTURES FOUND IN THE WILDERNESS

This has happened to me many times. I’ll give an example of our hunt after Butch Cassidy, and a cache we investigated. Our team was featured on the Travel Channel, looking for the Castle Gate Payroll Robbery. We discovered Robbers Roost and an old corral in the area. We were told that the corral was built by the Wild Bunch (Butch Cassidy’s Team). While we were there, we did metal detecting around the corral and found horseshoes. They looked old. I took a sample of the wood posts from the corral A few months later, I sent the sample in and it did come back as being from the 1880s. That’s a few years before the Castle Gate Robbery happened. That told us that the corral could be,  in fact, built by the wild bunch.

old-building-structures-carbon-dating

SMELTERS AND ARRASTRA’S FOUND AT A POSSIBLE TREASURE LOCATION

The Spanish would build smelters close to the area of their mine or mines. How can you tell if it’s a Spanish smelter or kiln/smelter from the old gold rush? Carbon date. It is true that veteran treasure hunters may be able to tell from the construction of the structure but I encourage you to do your homework. Carbon dating will give you your answer. Sure, a smelter from the old gold rush would be cool to find, but there is a big difference in the approach to hunting for old western treasures versus old Spanish treasures. If you carbon date it, you’ll know what to do next.

old-smelter-arrastra-structures-spanish-carbon-dating

I’m not here to sell you on carbon dating. I don’t make any profit from it at all. Only the benefits of carbon dating can do that for me in treasure hunting.  I want to pass that on to you, as a reader and treasure hunter.

Treasure hunting is popular on television and social media, but the old methods of treasure hunting are dying. Even as technology is getting better, old treasure hunters are dying, and their trade secrets and information are going away with them. I hope this article gives you a new perspective on using modern-day science and technology to successfully research, and hunt for treasures.

I have written many articles, and I have 3 websites with tons of information on treasure hunting tips and suggestions. These websites were built to help mentor other treasure hunters. If you have questions, or if you think you’ve made a discovery and you need help, reach out to me or my team members. We’ll get back to you.

Until then… Good Luck. Be Safe. Find Your Adventure!

Garrett Goldmaster 24k Gold Detector Waterproof Coil

The New Garrett Goldmaster 24K Gold Metal Detector. We all know that Whites closed their doors in 2020 after so many years of quality metal detecting manufacturing. It was hard for many fans to see the Whites brands leave the market. Luckily, Garrett, another leading metal detector manufacturer, bought into Whites, and has created the “Garrett Goldmaster 24K”.

What does this mean for metal detecting hobbyists?

It’s back! Garrett has taken all the good things of the Whites Goldmaster 24K gold detector and has even made it better. You will see that all the same features are on this detector. All the functions, options, are all there but it’s been slightly redesigned in modern day technology.

It comes with headphones, and with this purchase, you will be set to go out and find all the gold and treasures you desire. I have had a lot of disappointed customers that were very sad to see the Whites brand go, but Garrett has brought features back to life. Now, we can all hope that Garrett Metal Detectors continues to bring more of the Whites models back to the market. That would please many detectorists and it could push Garrett to the top of the metal detecting food chain.

At this point in time, nothing has been released about Garrett releasing more of the Whites detectors, but with the popularity that Whites had on the MX Sport, MXT, and many more, we can be hopeful that Garrett is considering that.

Below you will find some of the features and operational functions of the new Garrett Goldmaster 24K gold detector. Please reach out to us if you have any questions and our customer service staff will be ready to help assist you in your purchases.

GUIDE TO METAL DETECTING IN RETIREMENT

This article, “Guide to Metal Detecting in Retirement” was written by Bommer Benefits

It is important to stay mentally sharp and active in retirement to stay involved and keep your brain functioning properly. A way to stay mentally sharp and enjoy your day-to-day life is by investing in a hobby you enjoy. Many seniors take up cooking, stamp collecting, or gardening as hobbies in retirement. One hobby you should consider is metal detecting. Metal detecting stimulates the brain, and you can also find cool treasures throughout your journey. Here is a guide to metal detecting in retirement.

HOW TO BEGIN METAL DETECTING

A metal detector is a piece of electrical equipment that can detect the presence of metal and can even detect metal if it is hidden, buried in the ground. Metal detecting is a perfect hobby for seniors in retirement, and it’s not that hard to get started if you are truly invested.

First, you will need to purchase a metal detector. You can find metal detectors that range in cost from $250 to over $5,000. There are different types and brands of metal detectors, but it might be best to go with the more cost-effective detector to ensure this is a hobby you want to pursue when you are a beginner.

Next, you will begin collecting the right kind of gear, such as digging tools, knee pads, water bottles, sunscreen, and batteries. Once you have all the equipment needed, you can begin your search.

BEST PLACES TO METAL DETECT IN RETIREMENT

There could be hidden treasures anywhere in the world. However, before you begin your venture, you should first check to see if you are on private land and are allowed to be on that property.

You should visit places that can give you a fun journey and a memorable experience. For example, creeks, parks, and beaches are exciting places to look for hidden gems. When you visit new sites and create an adventure out of your hobby, you promote a healthy brain and stay mentally sharp.

When metal detecting, you should consider the type of items you want to find. For instance, if you are searching for gold, you should visit creeks that are out west. If you are interested in looking for historical treasures, you can consider visiting estates and vineyards.

Seniors and retired metal detecting treasures

BENEFITS OF METAL DETECTING

Spending time outdoors can benefit a senior’s emotional state and physical health. Spending time in nature can improve your concentration, keep you relaxed, and keep you active, which are a few of the benefits you can get from metal detecting.

It is vitally important for seniors to stay physically active, which makes metal detecting an even better hobby for senior citizens, as metal detecting is considered a low-impact exercise. When you are out metal detecting, you will be swinging around a three-pound weight (could be heavier), and you will quickly find out that it will work out your upper body efficiently.

When your metal detects, you are also working out your lower body. When you find something in the dirt and soil, you will have to get down and begin digging until you find what you are looking for; this will be working your leg and back muscles. You will also find that you will walk miles while you are on your journey, which is why it is crucial to stay hydrated.

METAL DETECTING IN RETIREMENT SUMMARY

Metal detaching is a great hobby to take up in retirement, as it can bring you a lot of excitement and turn into a fun experience. Every senior should set time aside from their day and focus on something that makes them happy, and metal detecting could be that hobby for you.

MINELAB CTX 3030 VS EQUINOX 800

The Minelab CTX 3030 vs the Minelab Equinox 800, how do they compare? Many people ask me all the time, can I buy the Minelab Equinox 800 and get the same performance as the Minelab CTX 3030? Let’s dive into this question and see what we come up with. Sometimes it’s your budget that makes the decision for you.

The Minelab CTX 3030 is definitely my favorite metal detector on the market. It has been since 2016, and it’s still holding place as my favorite. I feel for the type of treasure hunting I do, it has been the most reliable. I have had a lot of success with it and the upgraded 17” CTX 3030 smart search coil, I think it, has taken the CTX 3030 to a whole new level. I hunt after lost histories like Spanish mining and cache areas. I also explore and track down lost city locations.

I don’t find a lot of coins in my line of work, but I do find a lot of ancient relics, and I do think the Minelab CTX 3030 is the best of the best, for this application, without a doubt! Is the Minelab CTX 3030 the best for everyone? Lets’ dig more into this question, pun intended.

MINELAB CTX 3030 METAL DETECTOR

MINELAB CTX 3030 VS EQUINOX 800

The Minelab CTX 3030 was designed by Minelab to conquer them all. One metal detector to rule them all, type deal. I would say that they did exactly what they started out to do. For a very long time now, the Minelab CTX 3030 has been the king of metal detectors. So why have so many tried to compare the two? The answer is easy. Price!

FEATURES AND OPTIONS OF THE MINELAB CTX 3030

MINELAB CTX 3030 VS EQUINOX 800

ERGONOMIC DESIGN

The Minelab CTX 3030 is designed for user comfort. It is well-balanced and adjustable, and the majority of the weight sits behind the armrest, making it easy to carry over a long day of treasure hunting. The metal detector is fully adjustable, to suit your needs.

ALL-TERRAIN & WATERPROOF

This metal detector can be used on land, beach, and in water. It is waterproof up to 10 feet and has great ground canceling capabilities, so even heavily mineralized soil can be filtered out.

SMARTFIND 2 FECO DISCRIMINATION

Smartfind 2 technology offers digital signal processing and enhanced FeCo  (ferrous and conductivity) discrimination. This offers better target identification, as you can use Tone IDs to focus on certain targets and ignore others. Target Trace and Target Separation allow you to accurately identify multiple targets at once.

WIRELESS AUDIO

Use headphones without getting tangled up in cords. The Minelab CTX 3030 comes with a WM10 wireless module, so you can quickly connect wireless headphones, without losing any sound quality.

FULL-COLOR DISPLAY

The full-color LCD clearly displays more target information than ever before and greatly enhances the CTX 3030’s discrimination capabilities.

GPS LOCATING & PC MAPPING

The Minelab CTX 3030 metal detector includes a map screen and navigation tool on its full-color LCD display. You can easily share your treasure readings, settings, and locations to your computer with the XChange 2 application. This way, you can look back later to learn more, share what you found, or re-explore certain areas.

FBS 2 TECHNOLOGY

This metal detector has FBS 2 technology, which uses multiple frequency transmissions and coil-to-detector communication to find more targets in varied ground conditions, differentiating between good targets and junk metals.

MULTI-LANGUAGE

You can choose from 9 different languages: English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, or Turkish.

MINELAB EQUINOX 800 METAL DETECTOR

MINELAB CTX 3030 VS EQUINOX 800

I was present during the Minelab dealers meeting 2017 in Las Vegas, and during that meeting, we dealers were shown the prototype of the Equinox. I was amazed at the lightweight construction and simplex functions. During this time, I was told by Minelab that the Equinox 800 was designed in the inspiration of treasure hunting teams like mine. Treasures in America team travels and goes deep into the wilderness.

With heavy and bulky metal detectors, it can be hard to hike all day, but the Equinox 800 is very light and easy to manage.  It’s a true fact that the MInelab Equinox 800 is better than the MInelab CTX 3030 when it comes down to comparing the weight. The CTX 3030 gets heavy, compared to the MInelab Equinox 800.

Minelab Logo

CONCLUSION: THE BEST OF THE TWO METAL DETECTORS

MINELAB CTX 3030 VS EQUINOX 800

As you can see, they both seem to have similar specifications and options but there are two very important differences to consider:

MINELAB CTX 3030 PRICE $2,499.00

MINELAB EQUINOX 800 PRICE $949.00

The next thing that needs to be considered is depth! How deep do you want your metal detector to detect? The Minelab CTX 3030 is going to get more depth, for sure. Especially when you use the Minelab 17” DD smart coil

Here’s one way to look at the obvious. The Minelab CTX 3030 has been a metal detector that many detectorists have wanted for a while now. Not everyone can afford the price tag on the CTX. Minelab, being the great manufacturer they are, decided to cut a few options, functions, &  and performance, to create a cheaper one, the Minelab Equixon 800.

For this reason, many dealers won’t give it to you straight, like I am. When it comes to sales, some beat around the bush, but I don’t. I have created my metal detecting and treasure hunting business based on my experiences and knowledge. I believe that the customer deserves to understand what they are investing in. That’s what metal detecting and treasure hunting are, a hobby and investment.

If the price tag of the CTX 3030 is not in your budget, then buy the Minelab Equinox 800. You won’t be disappointed. I promise you. If you can afford the CTX 3030 then buy it. You will not regret it. Trust me. I’ve used both and I see the benefit of both. That’s why I own both and use both metal detectors. I know that the CTX 3030 is a better metal detector but I also know that the Equinox 800 is a great detector too. I hope this helps you make your decision. Contact us if you have any questions. Until then…

Good Luck! Be Safe! Find Your Adventure! It’s not just a metal detector, it’s a lifestyle!

GUIDE TO TREASURE HUNTING WITH YOUR DOG

This article, “Guide to Treasure Hunting with your Dog” was written by Jamie: The Pet Shop

This article will look at how you can enrich the relationship between you and your dog by treasure hunting together. It is a fun activity and will help you to spend some leisure time with your pup.

Here is a guide to train your pup about treasure hunting like a pro.

Training dogs to treasure hunt is not about teaching them new tricks or tips. It is about the reactivation of their natural behavior patterns. Such activities can be fun for you as well as for your dog. Treasure hunting acts as a stimulus for aging pets to use their senses accordingly. Also, it will keep your pup canine sharp.

Dubai pet food has a wide range of dog food to keep your dogs healthy and nourished. The dry food will make them feel energized all day long and, this will help them keep motivated for fun activities like a treasure hunt.

There are Five Basic tips to guide treasure hunting with your dog.

Start with the Basic

Firstly, start with the basics, ensure that your dog reacts to the basic instruction or command. Before asking your dog to learn to locate things, it is a good idea that you have taught them the basics such as sitting, standing, running.

Reward your pup after every successful step in training. It will help boost your puppy’s confidence and maintenance of discipline and understanding in your dog.

Maintenance of Discipline

After going through the basics, be sure that your pup is healthy discipline, like grab a favorite treat and place it in her line of sight or maybe in front of her. Instruct or command them to stand, ensuring that they don’t rush towards the treat immediately and wait for your next instruction patiently.

When you think that now is the time to reward your dog with a treat, clearly state a command of your choice to get the snack. You can say “hunt.”

camping-treasure-hunt-dog-outdoors-guide

Begin with Small

Start with smaller like hide the treat within the room, then go bigger and hide throughout the living room. Let your dog sit in the place and sniff the treat. Hiding the delight within the space will alert their senses.

Give the command to your dog, let your dog go after it. If the dog gets confused or distract, repeat the given order. When first starting with a treasure hunt, it is okay to help your dog by gesturing or pointing out where the treat is.

However, ensure that you understand the command you are using, such as searching for the hidden treat.

Go bigger

Now, when you and your dog have mastered finding treats or something hidden inside the room, you can progress to hiding them throughout your living room. When your dog struggles to find joy, keep encouraging them, pointing out a sense of urgency in your voice to keep your pup motivated.

After your pup finds each hidden treat, be sure to reward them or pet them expressing how proud you are.

Be Creative with it.

After your dog gets master in finding stuff in the house, you can start thinking about getting creative with it outside the home. Organize a treasure hunt outside the house because the inside and outside the house differ to help your dog alert sensory senses.

Be sure not to give in quickly. Persistence and patient are the names of the game and secrets of success in the game.

Conclusion

Be patient with your dog in this learning process. Keep encouraging your pup because your praises will keep them motivated. Let them find in their own pace and get successful.

The Lost Dutchman's Mine | Superstition Mountains

THE LOST DUTCHMAN’S MINE

The Lost Dutchman’s mine has possibly the most famous treasure hunting stories and legends in the United States. Many people have ventured into the Superstition Mountains of Arizona to look for the lost gold mine. Some believe they know where it is today and yet, no big news of a large amount of gold has circulated into the gold market.

I believe the Lost Dutchman’s gold mine is still out there, waiting to be discovered. The rumors suggest that the seeker could find millions of dollars worth in gold. When one is in search of the mysteries and searching the legends surrounding this area and legend, there can be risks! Some treasure hunters, advanced and beginners, have died looking for the mine. Be careful of the hot summers and plan accordingly.

LOST JOSEPHINE MINE AND THE CACHE

From the late 1400s to the late 1800s, Spain was one of the most powerful countries that traveled to America. The Spanish, also known as the Conquistadors, mined and conquered many areas in all of America. One of the most famous mines Spain ever mined was named the “Josephine Mine”. Some would also call it the “Josephina Mine”.

Records tell of an extremely rich gold and silver mine that could be in the high Uinta Mountains in Northern Utah. Many known treasure hunters have looked for it and many have stumbled upon lost records, maps, and old Spanish documents that point the way. The Spanish Waybill explains that the gold and silver was abandoned due to fear because of local Ute Indians. Do you have what it takes to follow the clues?

BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE CASTLE GATE ROBBERY

Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch staged many robberies and many people think their buried caches are still out there. Utah is a great state to start your hunt for tracking down Butch Cassidy’s treasures. The Treasures in America team joined with Chris Jericho and the Travel Channel to find the Castle Gate Robbery loot.

We were unsuccessful with finding the buried gold but we did find many clues. We know where Robbers Roost is located and we found many secret locations where we think the Wild Butch could have hidden the gold and other valuable treasures. If you take a look at this article about our adventure and treasure hunt, I think you could have a chance at locating the gold.

LOST SPANISH TREASURE AND MINES

The Spanish mined and buried treasure in many places. The best trail to follow is from Mexico City to the North through Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, and Utah. Many clues can be found and Spanish mines and buried cache locations can be easy to identify if you know what to look for.

Finding the clues to locate old Spanish mines and treasures can be difficult and that’s why we think you should follow the clues that we have discovered to help point you in the right direction. This story was given to the Treasures in America team by a local Indian tribe that had history with the Spanish explorations. There’s a chance of finding 400 Spanish silver bars worth up to 3 million dollars today.

The local village today thinks they built their village on top of one of the lost Mixtec cities. The Mixtec were known for their gold sculptures, artifacts, and much more.

The modern village has known about this secret for about 500 years and has kept this discovery secret from their own government for fear of Mexico taking their lands away. For 500 years, after the monsoon season, the villagers cover the ancient ruins with mud so no one can see the evidence that only heavy rain can disclose.

THE SEARCH FOR AZTEC TREASURE & AZTLAN

The mighty Aztecs were disguised by the Spanish when Cortez ventured into Mexico. They were only in the Mexico City area for a little over 200 years. Where did they come from and where did they live before that? Many believe that the Aztec people came from their homeland called Aztalan which is located in North America. Some believe that Montezuma had time to hide the vast Aztec treasure before the Spanish were successful in conquering their city.

Many believe that the rich treasures of the Aztecs were taken back to their homeland of Aztlan and still today, treasure hunters are trying to find clues to unlock its location. Our team has spent many years tracking down information and clues to Aztlan and this article could shed some light on the treasure’s locations and where to start your search.

Sunken Ships and Treasure Hunting

SUNKEN TREASURES OF THE CARIBBEAN

All the treasures, gold, silver, and other valuables came from the Americas and were placed on ships for transfer to Spain, England, France, and other counties but many of these ships never made it back to the docks. The Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea is full of sunken treasures still waiting to be discovered. Priceless artifacts and billions of dollars in silver and gold can be found.

You just have to know the history, ports, and routes to find these treasures. Many locals illegally hunt for sunken treasures in Cancun and other locations in the region. Do you have what it takes to find these ships loaded with treasure? The pirates in the 1700’s did and even when they were successful in finding and stealing a treasure ship, that ship had a 35% chance of sinking too. There’s so much to look for.

THE LOST CITY OF Z – THE FORGOTTEN RUINS OF BRAZIL

Manuscript 512 from a Portuguese explorer in 1753 wrote of his discovery that inspired England and other Countries to send amateur explorers deep in the Amazon to seek out a city, not of native creation. Manuscript 512 tells of statues of what seems to be white men, similar to ancient Roman type statues, columns, and temples. In the early 1900s, Percy Fawcett was close to discovering the location but he never returned home. Many think he was killed by natives.

World War I and World War 2 came and went, and the city was once again forgotten. I believe that true explorers are few and far between in these modern days, and that’s why the Lost City of Z is still undiscovered. Reports of LiDAR used in the early 21st century tell of lost roads, structures, and cities buried in the jungle in the remote area that Fawcett claimed. Are these LiDAR discoveries the Lost City of Z or something else? Who has what it takes to find this mysterious city?

THE LOST CITY OF Z – MANUSCRIPT 512

The Lost City of Z and Manuscript 512 will play a big role in the future. It’s hard for countries like the United States of America to believe in stories of lost cities and treasures. I can tell you, in places like Central and South America, these stories are real. The dense jungles, government cover ups, lack of knowledge and documents, and many other reasons have held up exploration of these areas. Modern day technology has now opened a new page in exploration in the 21st century.

Is the Lost City of Z real? Is it still hidden? Where is its location? Let’s find out.

THE LEGEND OF THE LOST CITY OF Z DOCUMENTS & LEGENDS

THE LOST CITY OF Z – MANUSCRIPT 512 | CHAPTER 1

Some stories and legends of lost cities of gold have been nothing but stories, but there’s also many stories out there that are backed up with eyewitness accounts. Some are from more credible accounts, like Plato, telling the story of Atlantis around 360 B.C.

The Spanish also had many accounts of lost cities deep in the jungle from local native Indians. I think it’s safe to say that some of these stories have truth to them. But how do you weave out the bad stories? Documents, maps, eyewitness accounts, are a good start. That’s why I decided to research and write about the Lost City of Z. I feel that there could be a real discovery.

In 2016, a movie came to theaters called “The Lost City of Z” and it caught my attention. One thing that I have learned is Hollywood spends many thousands of dollars on research for every movie they make. In this case, I figured some of the money was spent to see if there was a possibility that the Lost City of Z was a made up story or possibly there was some truth to it. The entertainment business makes more money if it’s based on a true story, or based on true events.

That’s when I found Manuscript 512 in Brazil’s largest library. I have hunted for information about Spanish conquests in America for over 20 years now,  and when I saw this document, I had to dig into it more.

The Spanish weren’t the only outsiders to look for lost cities in Brazil. The French and British were conducting their own explorations, too. In the early 1900s, America and England were in a race to see who could find lost history.

It was a long journey back in those days. Planes were not used, only boats and horses. This voyage played into hardship and even death. Many explorers came back home empty handed if they came back at all. Explorers back in the day did it for their country and for glory.  Today, I think it should be done for history. There’s so much we do not know or understand. There are also so many organizations and government officials that keep history in the shadows. I think it’s time to awaken the glory once again and join the race for glory.

WHERE IS THE LOST CITY OF Z? LOCATION – MAP – DISCOVERY

THE LOST CITY OF Z – MANUSCRIPT 512 | CHAPTER 2

The million dollar question is, where is the location to the Lost City of Z?  This Manuscript 512, is in the Brazilian National Library in Rio de Janeiro, I have learned that old documents are a great way to find information on something that is lost. This manuscript is translated below, from Portuguese to English. The documents are old and some parts are hard to read. When you see (…) that is the unreadable section of the documents.

Location to the Lost City of Z Brazil

PORTUGUESE EXPEDITION INTO THE AMAZON JUNGLE 1743

Historical Relation of a hidden and great city of ancient date, without inhabitants, that was discovered in the year 1753.

In America…nos interiores (we inland)…contiguous aos (next to the)…Mestre de Can (Master of Can)…and his band (commitiva), having for ten years journeyed in the wilds (sertoes) to see if we could locate the famous silver mines of the Great Moribecca (who, by the wickedness (culpa) of a Governor, was not granted letters patent, because the Governor wanted to take the silver mines for himself and the glory thereof, and he, the Moribecca, was kept prisoner in Bahia, till he died, which was done to worm out of him the location of the silver mines. This account came to Rio de Janeiro, in the beginning of the year 1754…”

“After long and wearisome wanderings, incited by the insatiable lust for gold, and almost lost cordillera of mountains, so high that they drew near the ethereal region (chegavdo a regido etherea), and served as a throne of the winds, under the stars; their lustre, from afar, excited our wonder and admiration, principally when the sun shining on them turned to fires the crystals of which the rocks were composed. The view was so beautiful that none could take their eyes from the reflections. It began to rain before we came near enough to take note of these crystalline marvels, and we saw above…The spectacle was bare and sterile rocks, the waters precipitated themselves from the heights, foaming white, like snow, struck and turned to fire by the rays of the sun, like thunder-bolts. Delighted by the pleasing vistas of that…blended…shone and glistered…of the waters and the tranquility…of the day or weather (do tempo), we determined to investigate these prodigious marvels of nature, spread out before us, at the foot of the mountains, without hindrance of forests or rivers that would make it difficult for us to cross them. But when we walked round the foot of the cordillera we found no open way or pass into the recesses of these Alps and Pyrenees of Brazil. So there resulted for us, from this disappointment, an inexplicable sadness.

“We grew weary and intended to retrace our steps, the next day, when it came to pass that one of our negroes, gathering dried sticks, saw a white deer (hum veado branco), and, by that accident, as it fled away, he discovered a road between two sierras that appeared to have been made by man and not the work of Nature. We were joyful by this discovery and we started to ascend the road, but found a great boulder that had fallen and broken all to pieces at a spot where, we judged, a paved way (calcada) had been violently upheaved in some far-off day. We spent a good three hours in the ascent of that ancient road, being fascinated by the crystals, at which we marvelled, as they blazed and scintillated in many flashing colours from the rocks. On the summit of the pass through the mountain, we came to a halt.

“Thence, spread out before our eyes, we saw in the open plain (campo raso) greater spectacles (demonstracoes) for our vision of admiration and wonder. At the distance of about a league, as we judged, we saw a great city (povoacao grande), and we estimated, by the extent and sight of it, that it must be some city of the court of Brazil; we at once descended the road towards the valley, but with great caution…would be, in like case, ordered to explore…by quality and…if so well as they had noticed…smokes (fumines (?), that being one of the evident signs or vestiges of the place (povoacao).

“Two days we waited, wondering whether to send out scouts, for the end we longed for, and all alone, we waited till daybreak, in great doubt and confused perplexity of mind, trying to guess if the city had any people in it. But it became clear to us there were no inhabitants. An Indian of our bandeirantes determined, after two days of hesitation, to risk his life in scouting by way of precaution; but he returned, amazing us by affirming he had met no one; nor could discover foot-steps or traces of any person whatsoever. This so confounded us that we could not believe we saw dwellings or buildings, and so, all the scouts (os exploradores) in a body, followed in the steps of the Indian…”

“They now saw for themselves that it was true the great city was uninhabited. We, all, therefore, now decided to enter the place, our arms ready for instant use, at daybreak. At our entry we met none to bar our way, and we encountered no other road except the one which led to the dead city. This, we entered under three arches (arcos) of great height, the middle arch being the greatest, and the two of the sides being but small; under the great and principal arch we made out letters, which we could not copy, owing to their great height above the ground.

ancient-writing-symbols-roman-strange

“Behind, was a street as wide as the three arches, with, here and there, houses of very large size, whose facades of sculptured stone, already blackened with age; alone…inscriptions, all open to the day (todos aberias)…decreases of…observing, by the regularity and symmetry with their terraces open to the day, without one tile; for the houses had, some of them, burnt floors; others large flagstones.

CONTINUATION OF THE OLD DOCUMENTS – MANUSCRIPT 512 BRAZIL

“We went, with fear and trembling, into some of the houses, and in none did we find vestiges of furniture, or moveable objects by which, or whose use, we might guess at the sort of people who had dwelt therein. The houses were all dark, in the interior, and hardly could the light of day penetrate, even at its dimmest, and, as the vaults gave back the echoes of our speech, the sound of our voices terrified us. We went on into the strange city and we came on a road (street: rua) of great length, and a well set-out plaza (uma praca regular), besides, in it, and in the middle of the plaza a column of black stone of extraordinary grandeur, on whose summit was a statue of a man (homem ordinario: not a god, or demi-god) with a hand on the left hip and right arm out-stretched, pointing with the index finger to the north pole; and each corner of the said plaza is an obelisk like those among the Romans, but now badly damaged, and cleft as by thunderbolts.

“On the right side of the plaza is a superb building, as it were the principal town-house of some great lord of the land; there is a great hall (saldo) at the entrance, but still being awed and afraid, not all of us entered in the hou…being so many and the retre…ed to form some…ed we encounter a…mass of extraordin…it was difficult for him to lift it…

“The bats were so numerous that they fluttered in swarms round the faces of our people, and made so much noise that it was astonishing. Above the principal portico of the street is a figure in half-relief, cut out of the same stone, and naked from the waist upward, crowned with laurel, representing a person of youthful years, without beard, with a girdle (banda) around him, and an under-garment (um fraldelim) open in front at the waist, underneath the shield (escudo) of this figure are certain characters, now badly defaced by time, but we made out the following:

Ancient Symbols Found at the Lost City of Z

“On the left side of the plaza is another totally ruined building, and the vestiges remaining well show that it was a temple, because of the still standing side of its magnificent facade, and certain naves of stone, standing entire. It covers much ground, and in the ruined halls are seen works of beauty, with other statues of portraits inlaid in the stone, with crosses of various shapes, curves (arches (?) corvos) and many other figures that would take too long to describe here.

“Beyond this building a great part of the city lies completely in ruins, and buried under great masses of earth, and frightful crevasses in the ground, and in all this expanse of utter desolation there is seen no grass, herb, tree, or plant produced by nature, but only mountainous heaps of stone, some raw (that is, unworked), others worked and carved, whereby we understood…they…because again among…of…corpses that…and part of this unhappy………..and overthrown, perhaps, by some earthquake.

“Opposite this plaza, there runs very swiftly a most deep (caudaloso) and wide river, with spacious banks, that were very pleasing to the eye: it was eleven to twelve fathoms in width, without reckoning the windings, clear and bared at its banks of groves, as of trees and of the trunks that are often brought down in floods. We sounded its depths and found the deepest parts to be fifteen or sixteen fathoms. The country beyond consists wholly of very green and flourishing fields, and so blooming with a variety of flowers that it seemed as if Nature, more attentive to these parts, had laid herself out to create the most beautiful gardens of Flora: we gazed, too, in admiration and astonishment at certain lakes covered with wild rice plants from which we profited, and also at the innumerable flocks of geese that bred in these fertile plains (campos); but it would have been difficult to sound their depths with the hand, in the absence of a sounding-rod.

“Three days we journeyed down the river, and we stumbled on a cataract (uma catadupa) of such roaring noise and commotion of foaming waters, that we supposed the mouths of the much talked of Nile could not have made more trouble or booming, or offered more resistance to our further progress. Afterwards, the river spreads out so much from this cascade that it appears to be a great Ocean (qui parece a grande Oceano). It is all full of peninsulas, covered with green grass, with groves of trees, here and there, that make…pleas…Here, we find…for want of it, we…the variety of game…many created beings without hunters to hunt and chase them.

“On the eastern side of this cataract, we found various subterranean hollows (subcavoes) and frightful holes, and made trial of their depths with many ropes; but, after many attempts we were never able to plumb their depths. We found, besides, certain broken stones, and (lying) on the surface of the ground, thrown down, with bars of silver (crevadas de prata) that may have been extracted from the mines, abandoned at the time.

“Among these caverns (furnas) we saw some covered with a great flagstone, with the following figures cut into it, that suggest a great mystery. They are as follows:

Strange Symbols Found in Brazil

“Over the portico of the temple, we saw, besides, the following forms:

Amazon Jungle in Brazil Expose Ancient History

“Distant a cannon-shot from the abandoned city is a building like a country house (casa de campo), with a frontage of 250 feet. It is approached by a great portico, from which a stairway built with a door communicating with the said great chamber. Each room has its waterspout (or fountain: bica de agua)…the which water meets…in the exterior courtyard…colonnades in the sur…squared and fashioned by hand, overhung with the characters following:

Amazing New Discovery in Brazil | South America

“Thence, leaving that marvel, we went down to the banks of the river to see whether we could find gold, and without difficulty, we saw, on the surface of the soil, a fine trail promising great riches, as well of gold, as of silver: we marveled that this place had been abandoned by those who had formerly inhabited it; for, with all our careful investigations and great diligence we had met no person, in this wilderness, who might tell us of this deplorable marvel of an abandoned city, whose ruins, statues and grandeur, attested its former populous ness, wealth, and its flourishing in the centuries past; whereas, today, it is inhabited by swallows, bats, rats and foxes, that, fed on the innumerable swarms of hens and geese, have become bigger than a pointer dog. The rats have the tails so short that they leap like fleas and do not run or walk, as they do in other places.

“At this place, the band separated, and one company, joined by others, journeyed forward, and, after nine days long marchings, saw, at a distance, on the bank of a great bay (enseada) into which the river spreads, a canoe with some white persons, with long, flowing, black hair, dressed like Europeans…a gunshot fired as a signal to…for they had escaped. They had…shaggy and wild…their hair is plaited and they wear clothes.

“One of our company, named Joao Antonio, found in the ruins of a house a piece of gold money, of spherical shape, greater than our Brazilian coin of 6,400 reis: on one side was an image, or figure of a kneeling youth; on the other, a bow, a crown, and an arrow (setta), of which coins we doubted not to have found many in the abandoned city; since it was overthrown by an earthquake, which gave no time, so sudden was its onset, to take away precious objects; but it needs a very powerful arm to turn over the rubbish, accumulated in so many long years, as we saw.

“This news is sent to you Honour from the interior of the province of Bahia and from the rivers Para-oacu and Una, and assuring you that we shall give information to no person, whatsoever; for we judge the villages are empty of people and boat owners. But I have given to your Honour the mine we have discovered, reminded of the great deal that is owed to you.

“Supposing that from our band, one of our company went forth, at this time, with a different pretense…he may, with great harm to your Honour, abandon his poverty and and come to use these great things for his own benefit, taking great care to bribe that Indian (therefore), so as to spoil his purpose and lead your Honour to these great treasures, etc…would find, in the entrances…flagsones…”

New Found History in South America

These strange characters were engraved on the great stones, sealing the vault of treasure, that the baneiristas could not open. This completes the fascinating manuscript by the bandeiristas of Minas Geracs that inspired many explorers to search for the lost city. Colonel P. H. Fawcett found that fourteen out of the twenty-four characters inscribed on the pillars and porticoes recorded in the South American manuscript were identical with those he accidentally discovered in the jungle forest of Ceylon. When he got back to civilization he took a copy of the inscriptions to a learned Sinhalese priest, who told him that the writing was a form of Asoka, of the old Asoka Buddhists, in a cypher which only those ancient priests understood. Experts surmise that the bizarre inscriptions record the caching, in a time of great dearth, or famine, of an immense treasure that would be thousands of years old.

Even though Manuscript 512 of the Lost City of Z doesn’t tell the location of the city itself, breadcrumbs can be found from past explorers like Colonel Percy Harrison Fawcett & Richard Burton.

MODERN DAY TECHNOLOGY AND RESOURCES TO FIND ANCIENT LOST CITIES & CIVILIZATIONS

THE LOST CITY OF Z – MANUSCRIPT 512 | CHAPTER 3

Early journeys predating the 21st century for lost ruins, cities, and civilizations were time consuming. It would have taken months to travel on a boat, horseback, and on foot when in this present time, you could manage to arrive in the Amazon jungle within a day or two. In the days of no technology, people would have to rely on their own eyes to make discoveries. Now, we can use treasure hunting gear and equipment like LiDAR, GPR, metal detectors, sonar, and much more.

I believe that if someone was to use the clues left behind by past explorers, you could find the ancient ruins of this lost city. Using LiDAR in a plane to scan the dense forest below, should reveal roads and structures. This is not a cheap process, but it would prove to be key to finding the location. From there, I think a group of people could use a helicopter to transport the group, equipment, and supplies in the remote area. This would also be a heavy expense, but necessary.

I have a good idea of where to use LiDAR in Brazil. I believe it would be worth the expense. I feel that the Government of Brazil knows the location of the Lost City of Z, but it’s not on their agenda at the moment. I do know that National Geographic and many anthropologists, archaeologists, and scientists are using this modern technology to locate Maya, Aztec, Mixtec, and more lost cities. It won’t be long before they find the lost city with LiDAR and assemble a team to go into the jungle to explore.

After many years of researching, I believe that history is suppressed, covered up, and misinterpreted due to misleading narratives. There’s a good chance that if the Lost City of Z was discovered by higher-up officials, the real discovery, history, and information would not become public.

After reading Manuscript 512, wouldn’t you agree that a discovery like this should be public? I feel that its history belongs to the people and I fear that unless a non-biased organization discovers the city first, all will be lost.

I would like to hunt for the Lost City of Z. I have the team and resources to make a discovery like this. I feel that this discovery should be made so we all can understand world history better. There’s so much that we don’t know. There’s so much that has been hidden for whatever reason the greater powers have decided is correct.

Join me in the race to make discoveries like our forefathers did hundreds of years ago, for glory and for history!

THE RIGHT TREASURE HUNTING TOOLS

The right treasure hunting tools? There’s no doubt that a good treasure hunt is not only fun, but can be very worthwhile. It does take equipment, time, and money but what else is needed to ensure the “HUNT” is successful? Good friends and family are the answer. You’ll never come back empty handed if you are surrounded by people you care about and enjoy being with.

TREASURE HUNTING HAS MANY AWARDS AND NOT ALL ARE GOLD & SILVER

THE RIGHT TREASURE HUNTING TOOLS – CHAPTER 1

This article isn’t about the best treasure hunting equipment and gear, it’s about the experiences you can have from the hunt itself. I have been very lucky to not only have a great treasure hunting team, but I also have more than that. I have many friends that like to do outdoor activities like hiking, riding ATVs, UTVs, exploring the great outdoors, camping and so much more. I try to give those friends and family members a little extra to add to their normal outdoor activities.

I bring some exciting information that not only creates a treasure hunt but some excitement that makes a normal outdoor adventure more exciting. Who doesn’t like a good treasure hunt? I think we all could use some excitement in our everyday lives, and looking for lost history and possible treasures might just be what you need. It’s a rush, and that makes it fun.

Sure, you do need treasure hunting tools and equipment to locate lost and buried treasures, but first, you need to learn what to look for and where to find it. Treasures in America is here to help guide you to all treasures that can be found.

Let me give you an example of how a day out in the desert can turn into a treasure hunt.

A FULL DAY OF RIDING UTVS IN THE NEVADA DESERT

THE RIGHT TREASURE HUNTING TOOLS – CHAPTER 2

UTV Trails and Exploring

Roy is a good friend of mine and he’s also a partner of Treasures in America and he called me on a Friday night asking if I would like to go out riding UTVs the next morning. I had nothing planned and I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to hang out with friends and find an adventure.

I packed my backpack full of supplies that night and went to bed. The next morning started off pretty normal.  A. few familiar trucks and faces showed up as we were getting our UTV loaded on the trailer to head south. We drove South to Mesquite Nevada and arrived where we were going to unload the trucks. Once we got there, I noticed that there were a few extra trucks that I didn’t recognize. As we were taking our time, prepping for the long day of riding, more trucks started to pull into the unloading area.

Roy and I looked at each other and said “looks like someone put the word out and people wanted to join”. For the next 30 minutes, more and more trucks and UTVs were coming in. I could not believe how many people and UTVs showed up. I looked around and noticed that there were several more friends arriving and I thought, wow, this is cool. I have never seen this many people in one group outing before.

As we were about to leave as a group, I think I counted around 30 UTVs, ready to have some fun.

This was the first treasure of this story. Friends, family, and a good unexplored wilderness trail coming our way.

THE TREASURE OF HELPING FRIENDS. PEOPLE HELPING PEOPLE

THE RIGHT TREASURE HUNTING TOOLS – CHAPTER 3

Treasure Hunting Community, Team, Group

We were about 30 minutes into our ride and a good friend of mine named Truboy pulled off the trail. He was having problems with his UTV and he couldn’t go any further. We all stopped and many of the experienced people with mechanical minds helped Truboy look at the problem. He needed a part to fix his UTV, but it was a 30 minute drive back to the trucks to get the part. One of our friends took Turboy back to the truck and then everyone helped him get his UTV back on the road.

This was another treasure! People helping people. The whole group stayed together to ensure that everyone could have a fun filled day.

As we got back on the road, I was admiring the scenery. It was beautiful and riding fast down the dirt road made it even more exciting. I noticed while riding and exploring, we were passing an area that has signs of old mining dumps, mine entrances, and artifacts lying around. We got out, and I kicked myself for not bringing my metal detector with me.

Again the group gathered around while some of the UTVs had music playing and everyone was just having fun and enjoying the moment, we hopped in our UTVs again to make it down the road further, and at this point, we were about 30 miles deep into the desert of Nevada.

During this time frame, we could see a glimpse of Lake Mead and it looked like a very big lake. We were higher in elevation than the lake so we were able to get a good look at the layout of it. We were about 40 miles to the North of Lake Mead.

THE RIGHT TREASURE HUNTING TOOLS – CHAPTER 4

Treasure Hunting Community

Around one o’clock in the afternoon, the group stopped for lunch in a very beautiful canyon. I was in the first section of all the off-road vehicles so while everyone was visiting, eating lunch, and having fun, I decided to climb up the canyon and take some pictures of the group. Lunch was good and we had sandwiches with honey crisp apples… yum yum!

We got back in our vehicles and headed even further into the desert, heading to the Southeast portion, towards the Grand Canyon. I had never been to this part of the desert before and this gave me a great opportunity to soak in the landscape and keep my eyes peeled for any signs of ancient history. I was looking for structures and anything unnatural.

We made what was our last stop of the day before heading back home and it was well worth it. We found a slot canyon that had running water and a man-made dam that appeared to be built many years before us. The dam created a small reservoir. It was very interesting because it provided a lot of water, plenty. enough for livestock and people out in the area, which was amazing, because there wasn’t a lot of water that we had passed in the total 130 mile trek we drove.

Everyone from the group was exploring and visiting with each other and I took advantage of the time to do some exploring myself.

The slot canyon got my attention and knowing that there was running water in the area and knowing that we weren’t too far from the Grand Canyon, I wondered if I could find some signs of an ancient civilization or perhaps some ancient rock art.

It didn’t take long and within 10 minutes of my exploring, I found a great panel of Indian petroglyphs along an overhang made of sandstone rock. It was a small natural cave with over 30 petroglyphs!

This was another great treasure we found today!

I did what I always do, and I took pictures of the petroglyphs and marked the location on my GPS so that if I wanted to return, I would know just where to go.

THE TREASURE HUNT AND THE RESULTS OF EXPLORATION

THE RIGHT TREASURE HUNTING TOOLS – CHAPTER 5

Utah Petroglyphs Ancient Writings

We got back to our trucks late that evening and by then we were all ready to go home. We were out for a good 8 hours, just having fun, but after the sun and heat, we were exhausted. We hopped in my friend Wendell’s truck, and it was a 50 minute drive to get home.

I had a lot of time to reflect on our trip, the people that were there, and what adventures came my way. That’s when I thought to myself, I never come home empty handed when I go on excursions. I always come home with new experiences and memories.

I would say, on this trip, it was the friends and family I was with, exploring new places, and the things I found and haven’t seen before that made it so worthwhile.

I didn’t bring home a treasure full of gold and silver, but I came back with something just as important! Never pass up a good adventure that comes your way. Put yourself out there and enjoy the uncertainties that lay ahead of you.

Not all treasures are obvious. Some treasures don’t have to be shiny. Sometimes the treasure finds you even if you’re not looking for it or recognize it.

TREASURE HUNTING AND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY

If you venture out in the wilderness looking for lost treasure and buried loot, there are some things you should be aware of first. For starters, if you are afraid of ghosts, goblins, and paranormal activity, treasure hunting and historical research in the field might not be for you.

TREASURE HUNTERS BEWARE OF STRANGE PHENOMENON

TREASURE HUNTING AND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY CHAPTER 1

I am asked all the time about curses, and I always answer with, I don’t know if I believe in curses for sure, but there’s something out there connected with the treasures I’ve hunted. I know enough to not mess around with it, I’ll tell you that. You have to remember that in order to have light, there has to be darkness. To understand good, you have to know bad. Stories of curses have always been connected to treasure stories, but why?

PARANORMAL STORY OF LOST TREASURES AND GHOST

TREASURE HUNTING AND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY CHAPTER 2

I’ve had many weird things happen to me in my life, but this story still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

In 2013 at 11:30 at night, I received a phone call from my friend Brandon. He mentioned that his truck was stuck in a river. He needed my help and he mentioned that his exhaust was under the water, and he was low in gas, so I grabbed my wife Lee Ann, and my son Trea, and we headed on the road to find Brandon. He was about a 15 minute drive from my house and another 15 minutes of off-roading to reach him.

This is a normal thing for us explorers. Sometimes you go out and can’t make it back because of a problem with your 4×4. We tried to reach him as soon as we could, and he was right, he was stuck badly. I used my Jeep to pull him out of the river and it took a few tries to get him out. Once I did get his truck to safety, I reminded him that these roads are rough and that he needed a four-wheel drive to explore. He smiled and said, I know that now!

We checked his truck over to make sure that everything was okay for him to drive home before heading down the road. As we were making our way out of the area, we came up to a graveyard from an old mining camp in the 1800s. We pulled over to check it out and that’s when things got really weird. There was an old rock wall about 6 feet tall surrounding the site and there was an iron double gate, unlocked. I pushed the doors open, and that was when we heard it. It was one of the eeriest sounds I’ve ever heard in my life. It sounded like a female voice, something from a horror movie.

The other interesting thing is that only the males heard the scream, not the females in our group. We continued on with our flashlights and explored the cemetery. Many of the death dates stamped on the tombstones were from the 1860s to 1890s. I can’t remember who it was, but one of our group members accidentally bumped into a rock wall that was designed to be a part of someone’s grave. I hurried over to place the fallen rocks back in the way they were constructed and we decided that it was too dark for this type of exploring. So we left the cemetery and drove home.

We arrived home around 2:30 AM and we headed straight to bed. After about 30 minutes of lying in the dark trying to fall asleep, I saw something that I’ll never forget. I opened my eyes and looked out the window, still laying in bed, and I heard a small commotion outside. As I realized where the noise came from, I saw a very dark shadow pass by our window. It seemed to not have much of its shape and it moved very slowly.

It appeared to move somewhat like a human, but not. The hair on the back of my neck stood up and I felt a very creepy feeling. I didn’t know then what I knew now, but this was the beginning of paranormal activity in our house for almost a year.

NOT SO FRIENDLY SPIRIT | GHOST – SCARY ACTIVITY BEGINS

TREASURE HUNTING AND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY CHAPTER 3

One morning, my brother Scott was sleeping in our den and I woke up to him saying “What the hell” in a loud voice. Then he said “Tim! Come here!”

I could tell from the tone of his voice that something was wrong, so I jumped out of bed and walked down the hallway to the den. To my surprise, I was looking at all our entryway furniture, stacked in front of the double doors to the den. My brother couldn’t get out of the double doors because the entryway table was leaning against it, the artificial plants were on top of the table, and shoes, clothes, and pictures from the wall were all stacked and blocking entry to the den.

I stood there confused for what seemed like a couple of minutes. As I was moving the objects away from the door, my brother was asking me if I did it. I was asking him how he did it, and that led to us asking everyone who had stacked the furniture, as I was clearing the way.

The whole family was in awe as we were trying to figure out who did this. No one fessed up to it and everyone seemed almost too creeped out and scared to talk about it. The conversation went on for about an hour. Confusion and finger pointing was the main topic of the conversation. After that, the house was fairly quiet for the rest of the day.

STRANGE ACTIVITY INCREASES – IS IT CONNECTED TO ARTIFACTS OR THE CEMETERY?

TREASURE HUNTING AND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY CHAPTER 4

Waking up in the mornings with furniture and objects displaced, happened often for several months. It wouldn’t happen every night, but it did happen a couple of times a week. The feeling of being scared started to slip away, and it became more a part of normal life. It even started to become a nuisance to hang pictures back on the walls and place the furniture back where it came from.

By this time we’ve reached out to people, and started researching paranormal activity similar to ours. Many people had their own thoughts and ideas of why it was happening to our home and family. Before things got better, things sometimes got worse.

One night I woke up in a panic because I heard a very loud noise that sounded like someone broke our slider glass door and started throwing and moving things in the house. I jumped out of bed very quickly and grabbed my handgun and ran into the main part of the house. To my surprise, the door wasn’t broken, nothing was moved, and everything was normal. The house was in the same state as it was when we went to bed.

Family members started coming out of their rooms and they looked at me all confused that I was in the living room with a weird look on my face, in my underwear, and a gun in my hand. No one had heard what I heard.

Several similar stories came and went in the house and it was always at night. If I ever woke up because of strange activities, it seemed to be between 2:00 AM – 3:30 AM.

About a week later, the whole house woke up to a very loud noise. I heard my brother yell out of fright and we all ran to the living room once again. The shoe racks and about 10 pairs of shoes were all over the floor of the entryway. My brother came out of the den telling me that he was sleeping and was woken up by his door slamming open and shoes flying in the air.

Some of the shoes were thrown so hard that they left shoe scuffs on the walls and doors. The shoe racks were broken as well. Someone or something threw these racks of shoes all at the same time, towards the doors and walls, very hard.

Why? What is going on and what is this connected to, asked. We knew that it was connected to something that was bad. But was it due to the night at the cemetery, or was it linked to some artifacts I brought home from one of my treasure hunts a couple of weeks prior to the cemetery experience?

THE STRANGE PARANORMAL HAS TO STOP – WHAT IS GOING ON?

TREASURE HUNTING AND PARANORMAL ACTIVITY CHAPTER 5

After some help from many, we decided that it was definitely the cemetery or the treasure artifacts I had brought home. The activity slowly went away after 8 months but we had had enough. We had church officials come into the home and bless not only the house but our family. I removed the artifacts from my home and things started to die down. We were sleeping better at night and things started to go back to normal but we needed a new start. We decided to move a few streets away into a new home and things have been good for several years now. No strange activity has come about for more than 4 years. I don’t have artifacts in our home today but every once in a while, we notice strange and unexplained things in our new home when new treasure research and exploration comes into our lives.

I have talked with many other researchers and treasure hunters about this, and to my surprise, about 80% of them seem to have similar stories as well, linked to either possible haunted treasure sites and/or artifacts that have bad energy connected to them.

Is it the artifacts that come from treasure sites or are it the sites and locations that we visit that bring paranormal activity around? I think it’s all of the above.

If you read some of my other blogs about huge discoveries and explorations, I am not a stranger to strange phenomena. In fact, it seems that the bigger the story, legend, or treasure I’m seeking, the stranger the activity gets. Our house now has security cameras around and inside the house. For the most part, it is a quite normal home but in the last month, we caught very strange footage of a ghostly spirit in the garage and very creepy sounds.

It is an interesting coincidence that I have been working on some very interesting legends and treasure hunts in the last few months. In fact, I think I’m deeper into big legends and treasure stories than I have ever been in my career of historical treasure hunting. Is it connected? I think so.

I think at this point we just expect paranormal activity to rise once in a while. Not only do I learn of new treasures and history, I learn more about paranormal activity.

Good Luck. Be Safe. Find Your Adventure
